Levitt AMP Ocala - Open Call to Artists

Ocala Cultural Arts open call for artists to live paint during 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series.

For the upcoming 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, we’re inviting artists to live paint metal panels each concert that will replace the current art panels at the Ocala Skate Park.

Each Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, Ocala Cultural Arts coordinates a Public Art Project to occur in tandem with the 10 free concerts. For the upcoming 2024 series, we’re inviting artists to live paint metal panels each concert that will replace the current art panels at the Ocala Skate Park.

This open call is for artists currently working and residing in Marion County, Florida, and the immediate surrounding area. The panels are double-sided, and each artist should submit two designs, one for each side. All designs will be approved before the start of the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series to ensure artwork will be family-friendly, non-political, and without copy right infringement. Accepted artists or art groups will receive a $250 honorarium at the conclusion of the concert series.

Local artists interested in applying to live paint during the concert series must fully complete an application. Entries can be submitted online, via email to artinfo@ocalafl.gov, or mailed to City of Ocala Cultural Arts, 201 SE 3rd St., 2nd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471. It is FREE to apply.

Deadline for application is February 18, 2024

Additional time info:

The Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series will occur from March 15 to May 17, 2024. It is a joint partnership between the Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), the Ocala Dr. Martin Luther Jr. Commemorative Commission, the Ocala Juneteenth Celebration Committee, and the City of Ocala to bring free, accessible music to citizens and residents in our community. Each year we provide 10 shows with 20 performing artists, 10 cultural arts non-profit intermissions and one public art project, all complete throughout the 10-week Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series. In addition, we celebrate and activate Webb Field, a central public green space within the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex. For some, the series is the only opportunity to access cultural arts programming. Through the series, attendees access ten genres of music with national, regional, and local artists as well as learn about ten not-for-profit local organizations that are providing year-found programming for our community. Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series is a safe community space that transcend socio-economic barriers and unites our community socially and civically with the love of free live music.
